Hello,

That's a few years I haven't built a hack, and my MS-Windows PC that I use as a media center is getting full.

So I am considering building a hack to replace it.

Here's what the family does daily with it:
- play rented DVDs
- archive my collection of DVDs (using the excellent exceptional AnyDVD http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html )
- play movies from the .ISO on the hard disk

Here's my plan, and it's committed since I am the proud owner of an M1420:

Why the classic over the plus, the fat mac or an SE?
The looks of the SE tires me. The Mac Plus has the large ventilations on top,
but it's the old style slot of 3.5" floppy disks.

The Mac Classic really looks like it would easy and respectful to the design
to extend the floppy slot to put behind a slot loading DVD.
I am thinking about this model:

Any better recommendation?

Next item is the replacement screen. I plan to remove the CRT and install a 9" or 10" LCD screen. Probably a touchscreen.
I probably plan to put the largest screen I can fit inside. I even plan to cut the sides which are coming and curving to fit the CRT so I could fit a 10" screen.

I am looking for some high resolution: at least 1024x768. more would be better.

What screen do you recommend?
