So I want to be able to dual boot windows 7 and mountain lion on the same hard drive, but when I go to install windows 7 on the MS DOS FAT partition it says "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks.
Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computers BIOS menu."
However when I made the partition I set it to GUID table format. Also in the BIOS the disk controller is enabled but the SATA mode is set as AHCI (do I need to change that because then how am I supposed to run Mountain Lion?)
My hardware is:
CPU: intel i5 3570k
MOBO: ga-z77-ds3h
HDD: seagate 1TB
Does anyone know how to fix this problem please? I've searched through the forums but I have no idea what to do. Thanks
