Hi,

while waiting for ivy bridge support I bought cheap sandy bridge celeron G530.
Motherboard is Z68X-UD3H-B3 R1.3 F12 running Lion 10.7.3 no additional
graphic card.

Graphic works but only in save mode (booting with -x). System crashes in
normal booting.

System information says (see attached screenshot)

Intel HD Graphics 3000,:

Chipsatz-Modell: Intel HD Graphics 3000,
Typ: GPU
Bus: Integriert
VRAM (gesamt): 512 MB
Hersteller: Intel (0x8086)
Geräte-ID: 0x0126
Versions-ID: 0x0009
Monitore:
M237WD:
Auflösung: 1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz
Pixeltiefe: 32-Bit Farbe (ARGB8888)
Hauptmonitor: Ja
Synchronisierung: Aus
Eingeschaltet: Ja
Rotation: Unterstützt

Now I'm puzzling about safe mode. What does it really mean? Which kexts
are not loaded? How can I figure out what prevents system to boot normally?

Thanks in advance!

The Celeron G530 has Intel HD Graphics 2000, NOT 3000 graphics.

First this is wrong because G530 has only HD Graphics. (http://ark.intel.com/products/53414/Intel-Celeron-Processor-G530-(2M-Cache-2_40-GHz))

Second : this was not the question. I was simply wondering why it's working hoping for more or waking interest.

My question about safe mode is answered by Apple (https://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564). This indicates IMHO that Q/E is responsible for that behavior.

Lion recognizes IGP as HD 3000 and want to enable Q/E which fails, since HD Graphics
does not support it (http://www.tonymacx86.com/wiki/index.php/Graphics_Card_Database#Integrated)

Safe mode implies no Q/E. Thus login is possible.

Meanwhile I use additional GeForce 7300 Card but I want to get rid of that additional
heater.

Thanks anyway!
