problems with the kext, stops at the gray screen with the apple logo , I booted into -v

before you try this video card I was using a geforse GTS 250

could be that the ati and nvidia kext's are in conflict ?

What is your OSX version?
What boot loader are you using? Latest = Chimera?

if switching back to old VGA card, it works?...then that's where your problem is.

since the 4890 card is really hard to get it working, you must be brave in trying injection method in my previous post, but if you are expecting the card to work OOB, then this one isn't in the list.

I use Lion 10,7,1
I installed Chameleon v2.0.0 rc 5 build 1400

I deleted from the system all the kext nvidia and ati kext also I have tried.

Then I installed patches for QE_CI_Exotic patch for 10.7.1.pkg.
I repaired permissions, I rebooted the PC

But now with the ati I look at that low a resolution:

dual monitor works dvi+dp using frame buffer "motmot" on my sapphire 4890 dvi+hdmi+dp

I put the string in GraphiscEnabler = Yes on (org.chameleon.Boot.plist)?

yes GraphicsEnabler=yes goes to org.chameleon.Boot.plist. located in /Extra.
download netkas patch and install ( qe_ci exotic patch for 10.7.1)
use latest multibest 3.8.0 and select "ATI 48xx Device Injector" and Kext Utility
Drivers & BootLoaders -> Graphics -> Ati Injectors and Paches -> ati 48xx...
Osx86 Software -> kext utility
run kext utility ( installed in Applications folder) to rebuild cache. reboot.
try this and report if it's working and where you have problems.

hm.. it doesn't work no qe/ci 3d acceleration. download OpenGL Extensions Viewer 4.0 and run tests to see if it's working.
