[SOLVED] CMOS Reset on ProBook 4340s

Hello,

I rarely shutdown/restart my laptop so I never really noticed this, however when I do and start the laptop back up again I am presented with this message:

The CMOS checksum is invalid. The CMOS will be reset to the default configuration and will be rebooted...

I am using the correct DSDT from the ProBook installer, getting round to creating my own now - was extracting my raw DSDT hence the restart :(
Aside from this, everything else is working

Did you patch the AppleRTC.kext in anyway?

.. I don't believe so. Just hunted through the ProBook installer, do I just use the option in MultiBeast?
I have no idea, i do not use those tools... I would suggest you finish patching your DSDT and if after that the problem persist try this patch (worked for me):
Code:
Copy to desktop (make another copy for backup in case it doesnt work for you):
sudo cp -r /System/Library/Extensions/AppleRTC.kext ~/Desktop/

Patch:
sudo perl -pi -e 's|\x75\x30\x89\xd8|\xeb\x30\x89\xd8|' ~/Desktop/AppleRTC.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleRTC

Same problem for me with 4540s (i5-3230M)...
Did you already test the proposed solution ?

Have you tried an EC reset already?

excuse me but what do you mean by EC reset ?

Shutdown, remove battery, pull power plug, hold power button down 30 sec, put everything back & restart.
