1st Q: Cannot boot from Unibeast USB

I have created Unibeast USB with reading the following page.
http://tonymacx86.blogspot.jp/2011/10/u ... using.html

But when I try to boot from the USB, system shows the following message.
Message appears when I boot: "Reboot and select proper device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"

What am I missing?
---> Resolved: We need BridgeHelper when cpu is Invy Bridge.
But now, I have the next problem. I cannot boot LION after installing MultiBeast.

CPU: 3770K
M/B: Z77-UD5H
G/B: Gigabyte HD6870 OC

Regards,
Ai

Re: Cannot boot from Unibeast USB

Did you format it as a Master Boot Record drive first before installing UniBeast?

Did you install BridgeHelper 4.0.1 to the USB stick before installing? Using 5.0 can cause some problems.

Cannot boot after installing MultiBeast

Thank you, Kinsy.

I understand we need BridgeHelper when cpu is Invy Bridge.
After installing BridgeHelper on USB stick, it worked.
And I could install 10.7.4.

2nd Q: Cannot boot after installing MultiBeast

Now, I have another problem.
After installing MultiBeast with following the URL given below,
Lion does not startup.
It boots endlessly.
Remove and copy mach_kernel from UniBeast USB does not work.
I'm stuck.

New System Instructions.pdf [6.43 MiB]

Here is what I have done, so far.

1. Install 10.7.4 using UniBeast1.4.0 and BridgeHelper5.0.0
2. Run 10.7.4 and Install MultiBeast4.6.1 with following setting.
- User DSDT Install
- Network: maolj's AtherosL1cEthernet
- NullCPUPowerManagement
3. Install BridgeHelper on 10.7.4 and Reboot.

After facing this problem, I set "boot:UseKernelCache=No " when booting 10.7.4.
But it does not work.
Replacing mach_kernel from UniBeast USB also does not work.

What am I missing, this time?

CPU: 3770K
M/B: Z77-UD5H
G/B: Gigabyte HD6870 OC

Rgards,
Tomo

Boot command "PCIRootUID=1" did work!!
And I find MultiBeast has an option "PCI Root ID Fix" to set this boot command.
(Wondering what this option means...)

Now my next problems are
1. System restart just after I shutdown it.
---> Fixed. I just disabled BIOS Wake on LAN.
Now I can sleep and wake OSX86 with no problem,
except disconnecting USB wireless LAN. But I can reconnect LAN manually.

2. Sound issue
---> Fixed. After running MultiBeast with following URL setup, I could get sound from a BLACK colored port of mobo.
I'm enjoying Radio chanel "ABC Opera" with using iTunes, Wireless LAN and Bose M3.

3. Bluetooth issue
--- Fixed on 2012/7/13.
I give up to use apple wireless keyboard and magic trackpad.
But, Logicool MX5500 Mouse and Keyboard are working.
Following tools help you to change key mapping.
steermouse, PCKeyboardHack, KeyRemap4MacBook

4. Wireless LAN issue
---> Fixed. Buffalo WLI-UC-GN(Ralink RT3070).
It was very easy installation. Just download the latest driver from Ralink HP and install it.

5. Cannot update iTune to the latest version.
---> I downloaded the latest iTunes from WEB page, and I could install the latest version.

6. CD/DVD issue "Pioneer BD-RW BDR-206"
---> CD is working with OOB,
but DVD is not. Somehow Apple DVD player fails when it starts up.

7. Vmware Fusion or Parallels Desktop 7 For Mac
---> Cannot install Windows7 as guest OS.
Somehow system restarts always when start up Win7.

Anyway, I can startup LION now.
Thanks.

First, you should remove NullCPUPowerManagement for this board as power management is natively supported on this board with BH5.

I have the same CPU and mobo and I can shutdown and sleep just fine (and wake up from sleep). Which firmware do you have on your UD5H? I use F7.

Also, I find better compatibility with iMac 12,2 system definition. See if that helps. In my sig. there's a link to my build description. See that for your audio fix.

I don't use Wifi or BlueTooth yet on this rig, but those just require the right hardware additions.

I'm not sure why you cannot update your iTunes. Can you use the App Store and iCloud?

Thank you very very much, Tagny Daggart.

I followed your setup.
And almost every issue were fixed.
Maybe selecting iMac 12,2 system definition on MultiBeast works.
