Hdtv as primary display

I can boot to either windows or mac, but the mac side will not display without a monitor hooked up with dvi. I have mavericks installed. I went into display settings when both displays were on. I moved the white bad to my tv (I thought that set it as primary). It still gets a black screen and no signal when I remove the other display. Any ideas?

Ok, here is what I have. I disconnected the tv HDMI cord so I was only using the DVI to a smaller monitor and that would lose signal as well. Just a couple days ago, I could at least get that to boot.

I'll try some boot flags, but I'm not too sure. I can report back with what worked should that be the case.

I used -v -x and DSMOS arrives. No errors are called out. A person suggested I try dart=0. I tried that alone and in combination with the others with no luck.
