Hi,

I have a dell optiplex 790 with Zotac gtx 660 installed. just upgraded to 10.9.3, everything is fine apart from the HDMI audio.

actually, the HDMI audio never worked before. the dell 790 has Q65 chipset.

please help.

I have been searching for quite a while before asking for help. I am a newbie and doesn't even know if the HW is capable of having the HDMI audio, not all requirements met as in your instructions. Don't know what information to provide, either.

The Dell 790 is equipped with: i7 2600, non UEFI, ALC269, Zotac gtx 660. video worked but the HDMI audio output. No HDMI audio device s detected. Really appreciate your help.

INo HDMI audio device s detected.
OS X HDMI audio does not work on non native hardware. You will do the work to enable HDMI audio. What guide are using? Do you meet the three requirements?

I was following the HDMI Audio Guide
Correct. For onboard audio, find a working ALC269 AppleHDA.kext. Otherwise, you native AppleHDA.kext for HDMI audio and No onboard audio. Graphics card supports OS X HDMI audio. 6 series HDMI audio edits support Q65.

What guide are do you plan to use for 6 series HDMI audio?

This is where I got lost.

I suppose that https://github.com/toleda/audio_hdmi_hd3000 should be used. But

1. it is a dell motherboard and dell bios. it is not AMI/Award/uefi
2. the Cpu is 2600 so no HD3000 core.

Yes. Download [Guide]- HD3000-hdmi_audio_dsdt_edits.pdf
Dell does not make chipsets or BIOS, Intel and AMI
Do the 6 series/i7 2600/HD3000 research.

I followed the guide, using MaciASL to extract the information. Here is the first line of dsdt

DefinitionBlock ("iASLpqgBXs.aml", "DSDT", 2, "INT430", "SYSFexxx", 0x00001001)

according to the guide,

10b. If dsdt is not AMI or Award, this method will not work. Full Stop.

Am I out of luck?
