HDD Limit?

I noticed under the Buyer's Guide that the suggested HDDs only go up to 3tb. Are those the only seagates that are compatible, or can I purchase the 8tb model and it work fine too?

Of course not. I use a Toshiba 4TB and a Toshiba 5TB in my system and they both are working fine.

You can definitely get a 8TB (any brand) if you want. It will work in MacOS once you partition and format it to the appropriate format.
