The MacBook Pro 6,1 used HD graphics with 256 meg of shared RAM. (2010)
There is a program called GFX card status for these Macbook Pros.
This program allows user to pick graphics card used rather than let OS X decide.
I noticed Multibeast now has patch for mixed system video included (6/7 4000/3000 )
While setting up a new hack (Gigabyte GA-B75m-D3V) with G 530, I decided to give it a try.
Previous attempts with Foxconn H67S and G530 resulted in high resolution with no sound or
low resolution with sound using -x. ( you can change resolution but no acceleration )
With B75 I tried with and without patch : not much difference.
Surprise Chess , Facetime, Photo Booth reflections with Widgets Application Launcher works Silverlight for Netflix.
Note these are very slow in most applications. My board did not like switching back and forth between card and onboard.
I had to resort to pulling CMOS battery. I have since upgraded CPU to 3350P so no more playing with HD on this board.
Now I have my Foxconn up and running again with G530.
Since it is a backup machine I may play with it.
I will ignore the patch as I will have a 6/6 albeit BIOS updated for Ivy.
I will try the MacBookPro 6,1 def and see what happens.
Next I will try GFX card status and set for HD only.
I expect to get flack for this.
Even if it does work this will not be stunning graphics.
It's amazing Silverlight works. Adobe Flash Player will probably be a sore point.
