I have a Samsung ATIV Book 8 (Model: NP880Z5E-X01UB) Specs found here. I'm curious as to whether or not this can be used as a hackintosh. The version of OSX doesn't matter, any version that could work, i'd use. Also, if there has been success, could somebody please point me to a guide to perform the dual boot. I just plan to use OSX for light tasks, nothing intensive. I plan to use a dual boot between OSX and windows 8. Thanks in advanced for any help given :)

You should probably read this: http://www.tonymacx86.com/laptop-compatibility/106791-laptop-compatibility.html

No, after one full day trying, without success. I could install OSX Mavericks on HDD, but I couldn't find a way to boot from it. If somebody know, how it is possible, I really appreciate.

I can successfully boot Mavericks. Touchpad (i tried a lot of versions of Elan driver, none of them worke), brightness settings, keyboard brightness, power management, card reader are NOT working. Else is fine.

Anybody has an idea for the driver of them? Any help appreciated, especially with brightness, touchpad and power management.

For power management: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-...nagement-sandy-bridge-ivy-bridge-laptops.html

Brightness can be accomplished with DSDT patch (usually). See laptop patches here: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch

Touchpad: if you have Elan, do some google searching...

Big thanks for the infos!

I Googled for Elan, and tried a lot of versions (normal, v3, v4...), but none of them worked.

Hi, has anybody had any luck with this??

I just finished installing but I am having trouble with drivers.

Any help is really appreciated.

Drivers for which device(s)?

Please provide complete details in your profile.

System: manufacturer/model
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx). For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.
