I forget the exact words, but I was warned the the FakeSMC plugins/kexts were from unknown vendor....or something like that. I knew where these were coming from so I ignored them. I'm sure this is a known or expected warning.
I noticed when I used the History Graph that my processors were supposedly running at full power (4.2 GHz on my overclocked i7-3770K). My temps were raising, so I figured that Hardware Monitor was misreading my core multipliers & speed. When I closed the History Graph window and watched the tab in the menu bar, the core speeds went back down to idle.
I have since updated Hardware Monitor and it appears to be more accurate on the core speeds.
