Comments

I know that XFX cards are not supposed to be compatible, but with Lilu and WhatEverGreen this seems to be working just fine! I got no glitches or random KPs and full hardware acceleration while using a 4K display. (didn't tested video editing apps tough)

UEFI Settings
1. Loaded default values
2. Disabled Serial Ports
3. Disabled secure boot - Erased secure boot keys
4. Enabled XHCI hand off

Installation Notes
While trying to install after creating the bootable pen drive with UniBeast I got stuck at "2 minutes remaining" freezing, and manually rebooting to continue installation got me a black screen after 10 seconds at "13 minutes remaining".

Looking at the logs during installation nothing grabbed my attention, and the last lines said something like "the drive couldn't be migrated to APFS".

But nonetheless I got this fixed by changing the installed EFI drivers, more specifically installing EmuVariableUefi.

Update: I got slow SSDs read/writes after first boot. I got it fixed by enabling TRIM Patch Fix on Clover Configurator.

Process to create the bootable pen drive

1. Created a Bootable Pendrive using Unibeast (UEFI)
2. Using Clover Configurator installed the following drivers:
   1. ApfsDriverLoader
   2. EmuVariableUefi
   3. FSInject
   4. HFSPlus
   5. OxsAptioFix3Drv
   6. VirtualSmc
3. Also using Clover Configurator also installed the following kexts:
   1. AppleALC
   2. IntelMausi
   3. Lilu
   4. USBInjectAll
   5. VirtualSMC
   6. WhateverGreen
4. Booted using UEFI
5. Installation got smooth from beginning to end
6. Inside macOS installed Clover 5103 though Clover Configurator
7. Installed the previous Kexts on macOS /Library/Extensions
8. Reboot and it's done. Running Perfectly.

Bluetooth Dongle:
I had a CRS 4.0 Bluetooth USB dongle hanging around. Just installed "BrcmPatch" (attached) and got bluetooth working by plugging it.

Update: It doesn't connect with my Galaxy Buds and sometimes my Magic Keyboard disconnects while waking up.

Update 2: I performed a clean install again and copied USB EFI over newly installed macOS EFI. Now CSR 4.0 is working out of the box, just plugin it.

Hi, have you successfully used Catalina on this machine? I bought an i5 9400f by mistake and now I'm stuck with it as it's already on the board (Gigabyte H370 HD3). I thought I should be able to get it working even though it doesn't have onboard graphics as I've got a Radeon RX 580 (as recommended) but after 2 days of trying, I haven't got it to install on the hard drive (Samsung 860 EVO 1TB). Please let me know what system you installed if it wasn't Catalina. Thanks.
