Hi,

This is my first time posting here. Was wondering if anyone had some insight into what is going on with my system.

I recently upgraded from an RX580 GPU to an RX5700XT. My hack is on Big Sur 11.1. Everything on the system works (wifi, ethernet, airdrop, facetime, etc.).

After updating to the 5700XT I had a black screen issue. I solved this by including the boot flag "wegoff" (disabling whatevergreen). The issue now is that whenever I do anything that stresses the GPU even a little the computer restarts as if the power plug had been pulled and plugged right back in.

Any ideas on this issue, or anyone experience anything similar ?

I have attached a copy of my EFI.
SMBIOS are iMacPro1,1

Thanks!

[UPDATE]
I ran some tests to ensure this is GPU related.
NOTE: I dual boot windows 10 and OSX
1.[OSX] ran geekbench on CPU. ran fine
2.[OSX] ran geekbench on GPU. restarted
3.[Win] ran geekbench on GPU. ran fine.
Conclusion: definitely GPU related.

[UPDATE-2]
Swapped my RX580 back in and had no shut-off problems
Swapped my RX5700XT back in and the shut-offs returned
Card still runs great on windows without any shut-offs
Whatevergreen installed with agdpmod=pikera

Don't disable WhateverGreen.kext.
Add agdpmod=pikera to your boot arguments.
I currently have whatevergreen v1.4.5 installed.
With this version agdpmod=pikera gives a black screen.

I have tested all version back to 1.3.4.
I can get 1.3.4 to boot with agdpmod=ignore, but I still have the reboot issue with that one.

Try a different port on your graphics card.
That worked out to get me booted with boot argument agdpmod=pikera but the reboot issue still happens.

Thanks for the help by the way

Just an update. This was solved by replacing my PSU. If the mods can close this thread please.
