just to be clear, that file will be located in /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/

but make sure you have the Lnx2Mac driver downloaded first or i guess the latest Multibeast.

ok... i've done it... how do i make sure that it's right this time?

Reboot and try it. You could test and see if the Realtek kext is loaded before of course.

how do i see that?

ok.. yea... it's the new one
trying it out now to see how it works
i'll post here if something goes wrong again
thanks :)

Just let us know.

I am having the exact problem in Lion.

GA-P67A-UD5-B3
I7 2600k
Multibeast 4.6.1 using Official Realtek 2.0.6 for 10.7 driver for 81xx Ethernet controllers. Installs AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext in /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns.

Running second HD with Snow Leopard with no such issues

UPDATE: ISSUE SOLVED
just delete the old AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext update permissions use the Lnx2Mac's Realtek RTL81xx Driver

working great now thanks to everyone who posted the solution to this issue..
