Comments:

Upgraded to LION.

I use it as a media server and also to host my web site.

Its been running now for almost 2 weeks continuous without any problems. I've rebooted a couple of times for updates etc.

At idle it runs cool and quiet - see attached.

Great little system.

congratulations bro. nice build

Thanks.

As its just used as a server I have not tried to get the HDMI Audio working - but will try when I have a day to spare, as I want to build one for my daughter as a Christmas present - so it will need to have all the functions.

Good show mate.. nice and clean. I like it. :headbang:

I let out a little yelp when I saw your attachment! I thought it was running extremely hot, then I realised the temperature was in Fahrenheit, not Celsius! iStat should really should an F or C, huh?

Sorry, I'm from Australia. Anyway, it gave me a laugh.

Congratulations on the build!

planning on a similar build. Just wondering if the slim drives came with the tiny screws needed? if not where did you find them? thanks

I thought at first you were using HD 3000. So, what graphics card are you using? Or do you network in with Screen Sharing or VNC?

Looks very good to me!
I'm thinking about doing something similar and housing it in my huge diy midi foot controller for live music purposes. Is that the fastest mini one can currently make or are there even faster mini options out there? I also wonder if I could still get a fw400 or better fw800 card in there for my motu firewire audio interface and backup drives? Any opinions or hints very much appreciated!

Using a GT430 Card works OOB

I access the Hack with multiple redundant methods

  • Screen Sharing (apple Remote Desktop)

Iteleport (from my Iphone or Ipad0

    Logmein

    Teamviewer

1. How is the H57 board working out? There are a lot of negative reviews about this board on Newegg and one reason I am reluctant to go with this.

2. How are the slot DVD drives attached? Does the case have the holes in the right place or do you need a special adapter or mod for it?

3. I have never had a Mac so I am not sure how you get the display you attached at the end. It shows a number of disks. Are these network mounted drives? If they are, what exactly are you using to mount them? I have a thread viewtopic.php?f=22&t=36757&start=0 trying to go through those issues.

Any pictures of the finished product?

Its an H67 board and is working just fine for my needs.

The slimline DVD fitted straight in - no mods needed.

The display is of a widget called ISTAT PRO - free downloiad - and the drives are external connected via eSATA.
