h77n wont boot without -x

I have a very similar build to yours with h77n, i3, 8 gigs of RAM Corsair Vengeance. My boot drive is a ScanDisk SSD recommended in the buyer's guide and I don't have a Gigabyte Boost. I set my bios to optimized default.

I ran into the same problem you did with the system hanging on the white screen with the spinning gear after I installed UniBeast and attempted to boot from hard drive. Verbose (-v) told me it was blue tooth initiation that was the culprit. I booted with -x and installed Multi-beast with the same settings as bitdoctor in this thread: http://www.tonymacx86.com/golden-bu...te-ga-h77n-wifi-hd-4000-16-gb-256-gb-ssd.html

OSX booted and worked fine after that, minus blue tooth.

So was the answer to remove the mini-PCIe WiFi/Bluetooth card from the system to get it to boot? (The WiFi would never work anyway, as it is unsupported Intel Centrino).

My initial install of my h77n-wifi worked fine with the centrino card still inside.
No, wifi didn't work.

My initial install worked fine, after I replaced that card.

So, it can't be that.

I am currently reinstalling my h77n-wifi i3-3225 because an installation of a GTX 650 caused it to boot-hang.

It simply would not boot without the -x safe boot flag.
Similar frustration ;-)

Reinstall should help.

INSTALLED ... or REINSTALLED multibeast?

I've had no luck reinstalling MB. I've only had luck reinstalling OS and running MB again ;-(

You *are* booting with the GraphicsEnabler=no flag, aren't you? It's required for the nVidia 6xx series cards to work.

Thanks everyone!! Removed Wireless/bluetooth card, and applied GraphicsEnabler=No to the multibeast installation tool and am now booting perfectly with sound and everything. Also to other users having the same issue I selected UserDSDT/DSDT:Free Installation (something like that) but didn't actually have the DSDT file. You need to look for your motherboards specific DSDT File, copy it to your desktop, restart without any flags and then you are free to delete the file from your desktop.

Once again thanks to everyone for their support!!

I will now try to pass my limited knowledge onto others! :)

I'm so glad you got everything working and that I was able to help!

I just want to point out that you generally don't need a DSDT if your system is based on an Ivy Bridge motherboard from Gigabyte, except if you need HDMI audio. But you are correct that you do choose the same installation option in MultiBeast ("UserDSDT/DSDT-Free Installation") either way.

Thanks again!! Could you recommend a fully compatible WiFi card to fit in the slot where the old card was? I'd rather not take up a usb slot and have to little useless knobs... Thanks guys!

Here's a thread that talks all about the various options for that half mini-PCIe card: http://www.tonymacx86.com/network/58146-guide-airport-half-mini-pcie.html.

A lot of people have purchased the Dell DW1515 (which is Atheros AR9280 based). Unfortunately, those are becoming hard to find (I guess maybe they've been discontinued?), and are selling for outrageous prices (such as currently $115 on Amazon!). You can get a similar drop-in compatible card on eBay for about $10-12 or so. These will ship directly to you from China. I'm not recommending any particular seller or anything like that, but here are a couple of links that point at the sort of card you need to buy:

I live in Australia... Just wondering if the TP-Link TL-WN8611N Wireless N MiniPCI Adapter will work? It's at an ideal price range and appears to have the small nobs to reconnect to the boards antennas
