Hello Everybody!

Just downloaded 10.9 from app store, followed the guide and installed (without formatting the installation drive). After installation, all the drivers were working just fine except for audio!

I tried all possible combinations of possible Multibeast options - ALC887b Legacy & Current - HDMI & 3-port. But nothing seems to do the trick! The same was happening with 10.8.5 after upgrading from 10.8.4 when it was working just fine. I had ignored it then in anticipation of 10.9

Can anybody please suggest if there is any solution possible.

Try removing the npci=0x3000 boot flag from org.chameleon.Boot.plist if you have it. And use whatever ALC kernel you used before.

I have the exact same problem with this motherboard. Tried to install kext from multibeast ALC887 Current, no sound, my sound pref pane only propose me software and airplay outing.

I have this same motherboard with Core i7 3770 and GTX660.

Plus i can't reach iCloud either anymore, i didn't had any problem like that with ML.

Thank you for the suggestion. But I don't have any such flags that are needed for booting. So I tried adding them, only to find out that does not work out as well!

I am trying to install mountain lion again on a spare hard disk to check if I can get it to work in 10.8.5 at least.


I didn't face any problems with iCloud. I am using tp link wifi TL-WDN4800, suggested by tony. Haven't checked with onboard LAN.

Yeah finally iCloud work. Good, but still no sound. i Tried Voodoo but nothing better.

Hi, i have the same board but cannot get to the install screen....i get stuck power management is incomplete or missing.

I trie every combination that i could think of with -x -v -f pcrootuid = 0/1 graphics enabler, and nothing works....

did you modify any bios settings aside from the usual?

Well, the fresh installation also gave me same problem.. 10.8.4 works fine and as soon as 10.8.5 is installed, audio goes away.. now trying fresh 10.9 installation. Will update.

@Electronicus, I didn't modify much settings in bios. Loaded Optimum defaults. Then, changed SATA mode from IDE to AHCI then disabled Intel turbo boost and VT-d (this was causing many problems earlier in 10.8.3). Then started setup with nothing but -v flag.
In your case, I think there is some fixes that are needed before it will work fine. So try removing the graphics card and connecting to motherboard's DVI port, that way at least graphics problems will be avoided for the time being.

Also, in my experience, if you get a white screen with just a cursor followed by a grey screen followed for a long time... almost 2 minutes each then, just wait it out. unless the cursor stops moving it appears to be just loading some more files in the background.

So, as said before, fresh installed 10.9
Wi-Fi was working OOB. AMD 5770 1gb was detected as AMD 5000 1gb, yet got full resolution. No ethernet dected. iCloud working OOB.

Installed NullCPUPowerManagement & FakeSMC, FakeSMC plugins and HWMonitor (all Misc from Drivers) & Chameleon (Bootloaders). Restarted. Got boot1h error, fixed that. Rebooted to check proper boot.
Next time, installed Basic Boot Options, Generate CPU States & Kernel Cache (all Misc from Drivers). Restarted to check proper boot.
Next, installed Mac Pro 3,1 definition (System Def from Customize). Rebooted, to check proper boot.

Finally, got a system just without Audio.

Then, downloaded Kext Utility - compatible only upto 10.8.5, apparently there's no version yet for 10.9

Installed 2 kexts, one different AppleHDA and HDAEnabler888b in that order. (attached) Restarted and finally got the audio working without absolutely any problems!!!!

Update: AMD 5770 works now, with GraphicsEnabler=Yes
