Hello,

I have a Gigabyte H55M-UD2H and a Core i3 and a 10.6.2 previously installed with a core2duo and p35 board.

With Qoopz kernel from tonymacx86-snowleopard.zip and busratio=20 option I could boot and generate a DSDT for my board. Video (9800GT) is working with the proper data in DSDT. Also the network with the driver from tonymacx86-snowleopard.zip. Unfortunately the kernel works in 32 bits and I can use only 4gb ram (memsize option)

Thank you for all the information and files!

Problem is when I try to boot with the vanilla 10.6.2 kernel. After kext loading it says "Starting Darwin x86_64" and then immediate reboots. Same thing with arch=x86_32 ("Starting Darwin x86" and then immediate reboots).

In BIOS I have AHCI enabled and firewire, jmicron, all cpu power options -> disabled
I've tried busratio=20,cpus=1,-f,arch=x86_32.
Nothing seems to work.

Any ideas?
Do you know what Qoopz kernel includes? Maybe some fixes that I can add separately as kexts?

Thanks,
Alex

Ok, well this seems like the perfect place to post this.

The NEW Core i3 & i5 processors will not run the Vanilla 10.2.0 kernel, and likely will not run the 10.3.0 kernel when 10.6.3 comes out.

For now, you must use a patched kernel- there are a few versions listed below. They will allow you to update to 10.6.2. Just replace the mach_kernel at the root of your OS X partition with the one downloaded from here after running the Combo Updater (before restarting)

You may need to download ShowAllFiles to delete your existing mach_kernel. Make sure to rename the kernel mach_kernel before dropping into your root.

Let me know how it works! Good luck! :D

I'm sorry to hear that :( I hope support will come

Anyway thanks for you links... I was able to boot with 10.6.2 kernel and everything seems ok... 7000 in Geekbench (at 4.0Ghz), firewire, Timemachine works and every other programs I had installed. (I have geforce 9800 and usb audio so I cannot say anything about integrated video/audio)

Unfortunately it still doesn't work in 64bit even if I installed <AnV 10.2.0 Kernel - AMD/Intel> that supposedly supports 64.
If I boot with arch=x86_64 it immediately reboots. With arch=x86_32 it works.

VMware also works great, with VT-x and EPT

Try booting with -Force64

This is the pseudo-64bit mode that Qoopz kernel supports.

well... yes, this is what I am using so that I can boot with 8GB

but in system profiler I still get 64-bit Kernel and Extensions: No
