Hey ikayhan,

maybe you could send me a link to the wifi card you bought?
Seems like the factory shipped isn't supported in ubuntu either...

I have here an additional question. You're talking about a "M.2 NGFF combo card". Where have you installed the card? Did you use the empty lot on the left side of the motherboard? Because the other interface where where the factory wifi card is placed looks in my opinion like an ordinary half mini PCIe card? :-| I'm a bit confused about that. Here two links of a tear down:

http://www.myfixguide.com/manual/acer-aspire-v-nitro-vn7-591g-disassembly/
http://laptopmedia.com/highlights/i...assembly-internal-photos-and-upgrade-options/

Currently I'm using a triple boot, working quit fine, some issues but I'll write down a to do list and fix them in time. :)

Do you know if your touchpad did work out of the box?
Mine is working, but I cannot use e.g. two fingers for right clicking, scrolling, etc. but

And I also have a very low frame rate.
First I tried your way and replaced the hexcode, but I had glitches when I tried to install from the stick, so I go along with intel=false was there some more to do with the graphic which I missed? :-|

Is there any further progress according to the battery state?

Thanks. :)

Hi,

Thanks for the guide, really helpful. I have just a problem, regarding Graphic Card.

Everything seems to be smooth now, except sometimes, a couple of examples: when i open the Launcher, is not so smooth, seems like is not fully accelerated; On the startup with apple logo, there are some refresh glitches.

Any idea about those problems?

Post ioreg: http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/58368-guide-how-make-copy-ioreg.html. Please, use the IORegistryExplorer v2.1 attached to the post! DO NOT reply with an ioreg from any other version of IORegistryExplorer.app.

Make sure graphics kexts are vanilla.

Boot without caches, repair permissions & rebuild cache. Reboot.

Notes on ioreg:
- Power management is not implemented correctly: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-laptop-support/146870-guide-native-power-management-laptops.html. (VoodooTSCSync is not appropriate for your hardware, NullCPU is installed, AppleACPIPlatform.kext is incorrect version for Yosemite, lacking SSDT.aml from ssdtPRgen.sh).
- AppleLPC is not loaded. Requires DSDT patches: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-laptop-support/152573-guide-patching-laptop-dsdt-ssdts.html

Sorry for the late reply. I didn't receive an email notification about the new posts.

Re: the wireless card. I simply replaced the existing card (Atheros) with a new one (Broadcom). The empty M.2 slot on the left side of the motherboard is for an M.2 SSD card. You can't place your wifi card into that slot because you won't be able to secure it down and the antenna wires won't reach. the M.2 form factor is different than the half mini PCIe. M.2 is much smaller.

Re: Touchpad. I'm not much of a touchpad person, so I don't really use two finger scrolling, but left click and right click works for me.

Re: graphics. You need to make sure that the Nvidia graphics is disabled. When you go into System Profiler, you should only see an entry for the Intel 4600 HD. If you se two entries, then the Nvidia graphics is still enabled.

Re: battery state. I've had no time this summer to figure this out, and I tried in the past without success. If you get battery state working, please post how-to.

Updated to Windows 10 few days ago and unable to boot into mac os x. So i repeat the step of replacing clovex64.efi and i restart and get to see the boot screen. But when i choose to boot MacHD it shutdown itself automatically, so i run in verbose mode and i found this. "The volume couldn't be verified completely"

Anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks

Try to repair with Disk Utility from the Yosemite installer or Recovery partition.

Just tried. No luck. Disk Utility says it cannot repair my disk. Guess I have to reinstall the whole OS. Who knows that what will cause the disk to be damaged ?
