[Guide] Dell XPS 9530 using Clover UEFI

The graphics drivers are not in kernel cache when making that transition, and Clover can't patch kexts that are not being loaded by Clover (actually boot.efi is the one loading, but Clover is patching them as they load).

The IOKit patching script is now updated for 10.11.3.

:thumbup: Thx ! I just had the argument -f in clover and it's OK !

So, note for me in the futur (tell me if i'm wrong):

In case of OSX update:

. Apply the Update
. Reboot from Clover USB
. Repatch iokit with the script if it's supported, manually if it's not

- No need to recompile/patch dsdt, it's already done - (yes ?)

. Reboot from target Drive using "-f" argument

Enjoy

And another little question : now, i had to press thé FN key to acces the brigtness And volume control, do you know why ? It's not easy to use

Basically, yes. Note that "boot without caches" is available from the Clover menu (press spacebar).

Yes, you're right:

Adanced/function Key/Multimedia Key

Now, it's ok.

But i KNOW i didn't touch this in the bios before, i suppose there is an combination of key that's changed this setting to function key or multimedia key without going to the bios.
 
Hello. Finally i've managed to install El Capitan with properly working video adapter. But still, i have no sound (tried to load without cashes), trackpad working kinda wierd - sometimes it's just turns off. Touchscreen not working as well, but, i believe it's coz drivers not released for El Capitan yet

Any suggestions for sound and trackpad?

Attach ioreg as ZIP: http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/58368-guide-how-make-copy-ioreg.html. Please, use the IORegistryExplorer v2.1 attached to the post! DO NOT reply with an ioreg from any other version of IORegistryExplorer.app.

Provide output (in Terminal):

kextstat|grep -y applelpc
kextstat|grep -y applehda

Attach EFI/Clover folder as ZIP (press F4 at main Clover screen before collecting). Please eliminate 'themes' directory. Provide only EFI/Clover, not the entire EFI folder.

Attach output of (in Terminal):

sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions && sudo kextcache -u /

Compress all files as ZIP. Do not use external links. Attach all files using site attachments only.
 
My apologie if the answer is somewhere on this thread, i've make a search but no result.

So, what about the access to the App Store, Facetime & co ?

These kind of app fails to connect at the service on my laptop.

I read on the net that an ethernet card registred as "En0" is needed OR a wifi card recognised as Airport.

I've not changed the Wifi card on my laptop, i use a USB Wifi dongle that perfectly works under 10.11

Is that possible to use these apple Application anyway ?

I've a Startech USB/ethernet adaptater to, BSD listed as a "Ethernet Type" En0 but it doesn't work.

Only for "True" ethernet card ?


When i try to connect, an unknow error occured during authentification process

You need built-in Ethernet or WiFi at en0.

If you replace your WiFi hardware with BCM94352Z, you will have met the requirement.

Otherwise, use NullEthernet.kext: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Null-Ethernet

Your kextcache output shows that AppleHDA_ALC668.kext is not installed.

Follow the guide carefully.

Well, i've tried, probably missed something :) If i'm not mistaken, it's "./XPS9530.sh --patch-hda" command? If so, i honestly run this.
Anyway, what should i do now?
