Sorry to ask, but I hope I'm in the right place. I have a working EVGA Nvidia GTX980 that I removed from one hackintosh and moved it to my new Hackintosh which is Skylake. The motherboard is a GA-Z170-UD5 TH. It is Skylake (i5-6600K) and El Capitan 10.11.3. It has 16 GB of memory, and a TP-Link Wifi card in it. All working with the HDMI video from the HD530.

But once I plug in the GTX980, if I use the nVidia drivers for the 10.11.3 build which is 15D21, WebDrive-346.03.05f02, it gets right to booting and it dies. I searched for a driver for the GTX980, and their website shows 346.03.05f01. I tried both with the same results. No go. It just reboots and sits there doing nothing. Does not even reboot to the bios. Note that if I change my config.plist at boot time to nv_driver=1 (from nvda_drv=1), it boots.

Using -v it gets to a place in the bootup, but immediately reboots, and the system just sits there. Doesn't reboot into the bios or anything.

I have attached a capture of the bootup screen. Any ideas?

-----------

Edit: solved my problem.

Upgraded the bios from F2 to F4
Changed system type in Clover from imac 14,2 to mac pro 3,1
