GTX 480 vs. ATI HD 6870

The only thing that is KIND OF notable, is that the bios screen will not be fullscreen. I have a 1920x1080 monitor and it won't use the full screen in the bios. I tried a few vesa hacks, but none worked.

It's not the GTX 480 fault only. It's moreover an issue with the vesa modes of both your graphic card AND your display. For example my GTX 470's vesa modes are not compatible with SynMaster P2450 but work fully with both HPZR24w of mine.
