GTX 1080 ASUS XG-Station Pro eGPU with via Thunderbolt 3 on Catalina

Here are the specs for Zotac MI572 mini PC.

• Intel Core i7-7700T
• Intel 100 series chipset
• Intel HD Graphics 630
• USB 3.1 Gen2
• Thunderbolt 3 Type-C

I am using a GTX 1080 with the Asus XG-Station Pro EGPU enclosure. After following this thread and I am able to see the alpine ridge thunderbolt 3 controller as shown below.

but under the thunderbolt section it is showing "no drivers are loaded".

I already tried unplugging the EGPU and halting the bootloader, plugging in the EGPU and letting it boot but that doesn't seem to be doing anything. Anyone have any ideas on how I can proceed from here? Any help would be appreciated.

What's the latest version that does support it? I tried it on Mojave but only got this far as well.
