OK so I'm a little confused as to what the best graphics settings for my hack are.

I'm currently running Apple 64-bit boot screen with GraphicsEnabler=Yes on 10.6.7

Is this the most optimal setting for my HD 5870?

Do you use the native ati kexts?

Do you mean from the SB MBP 10.6.7 update?

If so, then no, I don't. I'm using Chameleon ATi Experimental.

One more quick question.

Are there any benefits to running the new ATi drivers + GraphicsEnabler=no?
A lot of people seem to be doing that!

In this case all my three connector (DP+DVI+HDMI) are fully recognized without any ATIFramebuffer.kext modifications but the DP still not working properly...

Mac OSX animations work correctly (fades, etc.)

The downside is that you lose the DVD Player app and Geekbench.

that's not a particular benefit, since all that stuff works correctly with GE=Yes and the correct version of chameleon. In addition, games and DVD Player also work.

QE animations didn't work correctly on my HD5770 using the graphics enabler method. YMMV :beachball:

There is also a fix to 10.6.7's drivers that enables the framebuffer that (absence of) was causing the crash, so really there is no reason to use the graphics enabler method anymore if the 10.6.7 drivers work for you.
