Hey folks!

Finished up my hackintosh using the higher end mac-mini build. I apologize beforehand that I am not very technical.

I was getting screen artifacts after finishing my install. I found that graphicsenabler=no check in mutlibeast would fix this, and it did! For a time. Every couple times I reboot I get the artifacts again. If I just reboot again they do not go away, however if I reboot and tell it to boot with graphicsenabler=no it works. So, sometimes i need to type it in on boot and sometimes I don't.

Some other stuff that may, or may not make a difference:
I have a dual-boot system. Sometimes on boot I get the tonymac splash screen and it defaults to osx and sometimes it goes straight to windows. This also seems random but maybe related?

Thanks!

Graphics Enabler value is carved in stone in your plist in extra file.
So you have some other problem.

Tonymac boot always goes through the same order of disks.
So maybe one of your drives is not spun up when you boot or it is not being recognized.
Hit the space bar when TM splash screen comes up.
This halts boot and allows you to pick drive with L/R arrow keys.

If you are picking drive from bios or ( maybe with F12 ) you will get mixed results.
Next time you boot OSX run disk utility on drive

Ack. You seem to be right. I get artifacts almost every time I boot into OSX, never in windows anymore and only once the OS loads the desktop/finder.
What would cause that?

Some more ammo:

If the screen sleeps this goes away.

Are you using video card or onboard video.
HD 3000 has known artifact problem. There are some threads on this.
What board and cpu?
If you use ivy on 6 series or sandy on 7 there is a simple fix in Multi Beast.

I sometimes get a line on my screen (hdmi tv ) if I do not get TV up and running before I boot machine.
Turning TV on after boot causes black screen.

I am using:
NVIDIA 650 not onboard video
GA-Z77N
3770

I have searched for threads but might have missed them. The ones I have found talk about the graphics enabler, or onboard video but not an NVIDIA card that only un-artifacts after the monitor sleeps. Thanks!

It would help your search if you identified your card better.
You just said Nvidia 650. Brand name helps also.
There are GTX 650 and GTX 650 ti.
Both have threads on them even though they are supposedly OOB.
Are you using 10.8.2 ?
Apple has built in drivers for these ( see articles)

Have you used patches in MultiBeast?
These are not recommended unless needed for specific situations.
Some of the patches are for older Nvidia drivers. ( 20 series )
See notes in MB pdf and MB while running.

Do you have latest Nvidia drivers ? Check articles for links in hardware section.
Have you installed CUDA from Nvidia ?
I have these drivers installed. (30 kext not 20 kext that MB references)

Are there any other things in video interface that are not working?
Do you have ripples when adding a widget to dashboard ?
This is a check for Quartz/CL.
