Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

@counterfactual You did the upgrade to Ventura with all fake-kexts enabled and everything is working with them?
Hi @HenryM, not exactly, no. My first attempt was an upgrade to Ventura from Catalina. The system installed and ran but was unstable, crashing within 10 or 20 minutes of light use. Per your helpful suggestion, I removed the fake kexts from the OC EFI, but this did not solve the problem.

As @CaseySJ suggested, the upgrade to Ventura is a pretty significant jump from Catalina, so it made sense to do a fresh install. I did that fresh install (without the fake kexts, screenshots here), and so far I have not experienced any problems or crashes at all. However, I have not put the system through its paces for terribly long since the onboard Intel bluetooth is not presently working in 13.4, and I do not have a wired mouse.

Hello! I hope someone can give me advice on a Bluetooth issue. I want to use my PS4 wireless controller with my system but unfortunately, it cannot be detected. I know it's not the controller because it can be detected by my Macbook Air and and iMac.

So I bought a Bluetooth dongle.

It can be detected by my system. And I also checked that it is the one being used (instead of Intel BT) by checking the address when Alt-Click on the Bluetoooth icon on the Menu Bar.

However, it is not able to detect any BT devices. Most likely because I have the wrong kext and ACPI settings. But I'm a bit scared to change things there before getting advice.

I am running 13.3.1 and using the internal Intel Wifi and BT (not Fenvi) and BT works ok except that it is not able to detect the PS4 controller.

I am attaching screenshots of my working config. I hope someone can advice. Thanks you!

@counterfactual,

Unfortunately Intel Bluetooth does not work in latest Ventura due to problem with BlueToolFixup. We can use Fenvi FV-T919 instead.
Yes quite unfortunate.
Apart from the cost of the Fenvi card, I dont have any spare pci-e slots.

Does anyone know if these would work as a swap out for the intel wifi-bt module?

I've not seen anyone use that. Most people choose the NG version and it works well.

For anyone in the USA, use the 22% off coupon at Amazon.com.
Less than $37.50 with coupon. Good price.

Thats good news!

It's a shame that Amazon mostly sucks outside the U.S.

Ok ordered NG version A$47 inc postage.
Be glad to see the end of hacks & wokrarounds getting the Intel working!

While I wait for my BCM94360 card to come, thought I better check if there really is no way to get Intel BT going in the meantime.

For anyone needing Intel Bluetooth on 13.4, until BluetoothFixup is updated we can add these keys to
NVRAM > 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82

Key Value Type
bluetoothInternalControllerInfo 00000000 00000000 00000000 0000 Data
bluetoothExternalDongleFailed 00 Data

hey guys,

is it only me, or the Fenvi card's Wifi stopped working again in 13.4 update? I was using CaseySJ's patch for 13.3.
do we have to update it again for 13.4?

Pleased to report that Bluetooth and WiFi are working very, very well with Ventura 13.4 using the built in Intel radios.

WiFi worked great OOTB: getting very near to my ethernet speeds (250MB down and up on a 300MB connection), and after I made the change that @TijuanaKez suggested, all is working well.

bluetoothExternalDongleFailed 00 Data

Here's a screenshot of what that should look like in OpenCore Configurator.

And what's in the System Information

Not yet. @tonymacx86 just posted a patch for Intel WiFi/BT, not Broadcom.

Fenvi FV-T919 WiFi is still working in 13.4 and 13.5 public beta on my Z390 Designare. I'll check the Z490 Vision D shortly, but I suspect it should be okay there as well.
