I too am interested in the newest Thunderbolt 2 MLBs from Gigabyte. The lowest one should be available shortly and the higher end one in the early November timeframe. I've had my hack build on hold awaiting these new Thunderbolt boards.

I'm interested in these boards also. The Z87X-UD7 TH looks very compelling, I like the fans on the chipsets heatsink, and love 10 SATA 3 connectors; however (and it's a BIG however) in one of the articles, this: "A mechanism that bypasses the bridge chip exists (the Intel chipset can't handle all the slots alone) to give a single graphics card direct link to the CPU." is concerning from an OSX compatibility standpoint, so the Z87X-UD5 TH with 8 SATA 3 connectors (2 of which may be Marvel connectors which seem to have given sleep problems on the Z77X-UD5 TH when enabled) may be the right board to go with. The boards are spoken of on the Gigabyte website, but no real technical details yet.
