Gigabyte HD 5770 Target Display Mode Help

Hello All,

I need some help trying to figure this out, I am having trouble getting my imac to go into Target Display Mode and the Screen just goes black and boots back to imac desktop.

After some testing I have figured out the following
1)My Custom Build does receive signal from imac and does display under the displays and under more info.

2)If i unplug the displayport cable and replug it the imac stays in target display mode but screen stays black and changing resolution does nothing.

3)when I restart Custom Build imac does detect display til the point of the gray apple loading screen then it goes black and any other displays that are connected lose signal as well.

Is my graphic card the problem? or is it something else. I am open to any suggestions to help me fix this.

Hi,

Have you got your system booting and running well using a regular monitor to ensure your GPU is running correctly?

Fixed it!

Yup Salty dog I had my system up and running since May 2011 and so far only problems with it are things that I never addressed like this because I never knew that it wasnt going to work and Wifi hardware.

My problem was for the most part wrong keyword searches on google. After getting advice from notshy and Toleda. I troubleshooted out of the dilemma.

Pretty much I thought it was the imac which had the problem not my hack.

So Far So Good with Booting with Lion Kexts and changes from Langur to Vervet in info.plist inside ATI5000Controller.kext
