Bought the above motherboard together with an Intel Core i3 2120 Dual Core processor which I am now trying to get to work - any suggestions / hints whether this is possible at all? Thanks a lot for your feedback!

Just try to install a Bridgehelper on your USB and try different USB-Ports.
I have the same mainboard with an Ivy i5 3570 I know yours is a Sandy but maybe the Bridgehelper will help you out.

Your CPU does not support on board graphics. You need to add a supported GPU card or change the CPU to one that supports on board graphics.

Got 10.7.4 on this mobo with i7-3770K and MSI GeForce 440gt.

Used: latest Unibeast with 10.7.4 from AppStore, replaced mach_kernel by terminal.. After install run MultiBeast --> EasyBeast, Sys Utilities and Atheros LAN Kext.
GE=Yes and VBIOS=Yes (for NVidia graphics). Then BridgeHelper for 10.7.4.

Everything's works perfect except iCloud due to patched kernel

Audio is VIA VT2021 codec - is it working ? I have to choose between this board and ASROCK Z77 PRO4-M - I like more asrock but I don't know will the board work well with 10.7 or 10.8 /lan and sound is Realtek/...

VIA VT2021 work with Voodoo 2.7.3
