...I'll buy with a cheaper and much more energy efficient H67..

Could you elaborate on the superior energy efficiency of the H67? I have not heard of that, and the overall energy efficiency of my rig is important to me. Between SB, and a really efficient power supply, I thought I had it nailed, but MBs too?!

I am planning a new build based on a GA-Z68X-UD3P/UD3 board and i7-2600.
Does anybody have experience with this (or a similar configuration)?
I am especially interested in the following point:
1) Does the Chimera bootloader work with GB's 'Touch BIOS'?
2) Any luck with generating a DSDT?
3) SpeedStep?
4) Sleep?
5) Audio?

Any experiences/insights would be appreciated.
Thx

1) I have Z68 UD3 B3, and it doesn't come with touch bios, but chimera works.
2) I used P67-UD3-B3-F4 DSDT from the database, since I couldn't get sound working using Z68 autopacher, and the one from the database works well.
3) Haven't tested it.
4) Sleep works, however auto sleep works irregularly, but it also seem to be a problem on real macs, due to usb devices, bluetooth etc.
5) Sound works.

I've gotten the Z68X-UD3-B3 to work pretty well, but not without many pirouettes and jumping through numerous hoops. I'm trying to refine the process, so that others can learn.

In a nutshell, sound, video, network are working fine, but Firewire 400 is not. I had to use a cheap external card for it, which rather defeats the purpose of me buying this board.

I bought a GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 and am waiting to buy an i3-2100? Has anybody tested this combo for an hackintosh? I am new at building PCs (as well as Hackintoshs') and appreciate your advice.

Thank You.

It's probably the same soundcard as the board I have (Z68x-UD3-B3). If so, what I did was to run MultiBeast and use only ALC8xxHDA, AppleHDA Rollback and Non-DSDT HDAEnabler --> ALC889.

I did the above only AFTER running UserDSDT Install and selecting the .aml file that corresponded with my motherboard.

Hope that helps you!

I got sound, it was a conflict with my keyboard, logitech wave wireless, got everything working. Thanks.
