Thanks for your help (hope your patience isn't wearing thin by now):

I deleted from /System/Library/Extensions/Legacy889HDA.kext. Then if I drag the Legacy899HDA.kext to Kext Utility it tries to install in /System/Library/Extensions as the default.

So, I copied the folder Legacy889HDA.kext to /Extra/Extensions and then ran Kext Utility as a standalone and here is the output from that (below). After reboot I still don't see any input or output devices.

Task: Full service for "/System/Library/Extensions/"
and "/Extra/Extensions" folders.

Waiting system rebuild "Snow Leo" "Extensions.mkext" ... Timeout 61 sec...

Syncing disk cache ... Done.

From within terminal enter the following command at the prompt:

Code:
mkextunpack -v /Extra/Extensions.mkext

Here is what it showed for my system:

Found 4 kexts:
/Extra/Extensions/fakesmc.kext - org.netkas.fakesmc (2.0)
/Extra/Extensions/JMicron36xATA.kext - com.jmicron.JMicronATA (1.0.2)
/Extra/Extensions/JMicron36xeSATA.kext - com.tonymacx86.JMicron36xeSATA (0.7)
/Extra/Extensions/Legacy889aHDA.kext - com.tonymacx86.Legacy889aHDA (0.3)

You will see in my case Legacy889aHDA.kext since that's what my board uses.

Also, are using using a DSDT? If not, then you need to install HDEnabler for your codec.

I did all the process you mention above and the audio didn´t work for me too.
I have a Ga-X58A-UD3R F5, intel i7 930, and 6 gb ram.
The only kext it work for me it´s the LegacyHDA.kext, but SPDIF out not work for me.
Only analog out/in

Thanks

Excuse me, but, it´s important to put this Kext to the Extra/Extensions folder?
I mean this, NullCPUPowerManagement.kext

What´s for?

I mean, this kext it´s to give the order to the CPU work to the maximum power when it´s required, and then stop to the minimum consume when it´s not in heavy process? If I made a over clocking.

If I´m wrong, please, sorry about it.

Thanks for your help

Has anyone been able hot-swap eSata drives with this board ?

My (10.6.2) setup does not seem to allow this. Neither the manual nor Gigabyte's website says anything about whether hot-swap/plug is supported, though I can't see the utility of eSATA without it.

You'll need to install MacMan's JMicron36xeSATA.kext through MultiBeast. Then you'll get hot swappable SATA drives.

I don´t need to install JMicron36xeSATA.kext, with only the JMicronATA installed on my Extra/ Extensions folder, I can hot-swap eSata drivers with out any problems.
I never install the JMicron36xeSATA.kext.

DSDT Edits..

Macman just realized that I didn't make the DSDT edits that are outlined in your post: http://tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1686&sid=d6c79375b913d705dcf7d877f7a328b7

I'll try those out tonight and see if digital out works again. Hopefully that is the cause...darn newbs :)

I installed DSDTSE and replace the existing HDEF protion with the portion in the post linked above. Compiled DSDT and Installed DSDT from within DSDTSE. Rebooted and still the same issue. Opened DSDTSE to verify that my DSDT.aml had the changes and they were indeed there.

Output from the command provided by macman in a previous post:
Code:
mkextunpack -v /Extra/Extensions.mkext
Found 6 kexts:
/Extra/Extensions/fakesmc.kext - org.netkas.fakesmc (2.0)
/Extra/Extensions/JMicron36xATA.kext - com.jmicron.JMicronATA (1.0.2)
/Extra/Extensions/JMicron36xeSATA.kext - com.tonymacx86.JMicron36xeSATA (0.7)
/Extra/Extensions/JMicron36xSATA.kext - com.tonymacx86.JMicron36xSATA (0.7)
/Extra/Extensions/Legacy889HDA.kext - com.tonymacx86.Legacy889HDA (0.3)
/Extra/Extensions/NVEnabler 64.kext - com.osxenablers.NVEnabler (0.0.1)

I verified that LegacyHDA* did not exist in /System/Library/Extensions/.

Would love some suggestions on what else I can try. Thanks

You don't need both of these kexts:

/Extra/Extensions/JMicron36xeSATA.kext - com.tonymacx86.JMicron36xeSATA (0.7)
/Extra/Extensions/JMicron36xSATA.kext - com.tonymacx86.JMicron36xSATA (0.7)

Keep only one.
