Hi Shawnb,
I have exactly the same configuration as you. It's working but with a few glitches. Would you be so kind to share your smbios plist and com.apple.Boot.plist so I can compare them with the ones I have?
Thanks a lot.

Ric

Hi.

At the beginin I had the same problem with the audio, and my problem was that I not install the HDAenabler.
I used the iBoot form this tutorial, and once I configurate the Snow Leopard I run MultyBeast and I install all the list that show in this tutorial and the HDAenabler.
Then I copy the DSDT to the Extra menu and then I reboot, everything work fine.
A member here help me and send me by mail the DSDT taht I couldn´t download from here.
If you want, I can send you my DSDT by mail.
I have the same configuration, the different it´s my i7 930. but the DSDT it´s the same.

SPDIF Out?

Hello folks when I go to System Pref > Sound > Output I see the following:

Internal Speakers: (sound works with regular speakers attached to 3.5mm out)
Line Out: Built-in Line Output
Line Out: Built-in Line Output
Line Out: Built-in Line Output

What I want to do is set my output to the SPDIF out so that I can put it into my SPDIF-In on my Vista/Window 7 machine so that I can use one set of speakers. The question is instead of the three Line Out should I see something that is different indication that I have SPDIF working?

On my Vista machine (also Realtek but not 889) I can see the line in but it's STATUS is "UnLock" and it doesn't seem to think anything is coming in (Sampling rate etc)

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply MacMan.

I followed the link you provided. Though I don't know quite how to replace the kext so here is what I did (sorry I'm a newcomer from Windows world)

I extracted the zip file Legacy889HDA.kext.zip in my Downloads folder. I removed /Extra/Extensions/LegacyHDA.kext. Copied the new Legacy889HDA.kext (I didn't have a existing one to begin with) to /Extra/Extensions. I proceeded to reboot and after reboot there was nothing my Settings > Sound. So I'm sure I didn't know what I was doing but tried it anyway.

Can you please provide a little more info if it's not too much trouble?

Thanks

The problem is that Legacy889HDA.kext is installed in the wrong place. I goes in /Extra/Extensions
