Hi guys,

I am building my first CustoMac and itching to finish it off.

Parts are coming in these days. This is what I bought so far:

Fractal Design Define R4 PC Case - Titanium/Grey
650W Integra R2 80+ Bronze PSU
Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H
i4770
32GB (4 x 8GB) Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz DIMM 240-pin CL10
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5 inch Basic SATA Solid State Drive
Toshiba 2TB SATA 6GB/s
TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 N900 Wireless Dual Band PCI Express Adapter
IOGEAR GBU521 Bluetooth 4.0 USB Micro Adapter

I have to buy a graphic card, was looking at GTX670/680/700 but today I've found this deal that looks pretty cool:

Is it going to be difficult to run the 7970? I am a newbie. What's your suggestion?

Thanks,

Paolo

It's really easy actually and a good option. There are a few threads going around here on configs for it. If I recall all you need to do is use chameleon wizard, GE=no, and something like fb-rotate at login. That's it.

I'm loving my Gigabyte HD7970!

I had to do a clean install.

1.) recreated my unibeast usb with the 10.8.5 osx download
2.) Installed osx per instruction
could not boot... researched... found AppleHDA.kext the problem
booted into osx safe mode -x and deleted AppleHDA.kext found in S/L/E
installed latest multibeast
3.) restarted system - everything working - shut down
4.) inserted HD7970 - rebooted recognized completely Out of Box!

Hope this helps and enjoy your new custoMAC!
