In order to keep the cost of my build down, I am changing some parts of the SandyBridge build 3. I am going with an Intel i3 2100 processor instead of an i5, and a 5770. However, I still going to use the same motherboard, or at least that is what I was thinking. I mainly went with the i3 because I don't need much power now and I will upgrade to the high-end Ivy Bridge at the beginning of the year.

Current motherboards are supposed to be compatible with Ivy Bridge I have heard, so I assume just upgrading my processor won't be a problem. But I am wondering if there would be some sort of advantage to using the new motherboards that come out at the beginning of next year with Ivy Bridge? If there is some advantage, I will most likely go with customac #2's motherboard and then upgrade both parts, maybe get an aftermarket CPU and better fans.

Thank you!

Im also thinking of building i3 system this year and later upgrading to ivy bridge. Here i found some short info about what's to come :

Im also wondering about AsRock and MSI Gen3 motherboards, but it looks like the support for a Hackintosh system isn't that good as for Gigabyte's motherboards. The only advantage is the PCI 3.0, but in long time period it could become important.
