Well, now it looks like I'm screwed. I was just tootling along, playing around on my computer, when it locked up. Now I don't seem to be able to boot it at all... not from the main drive, not from the cloned backup drive... not even from the Unibeast Catalina install USB.
I've tried various graphics configurations, with and without the Radeon card, and just nothing.
I got out my old Macbook, planning to use that to do whatever repairs were needed, but it got late, I shut it down, and in the morning it refused to boot too. I booted that into recovery, told it to re-install El Capitan (it's an old laptop), and now it's stuck in a boot loop. Clearing PCM and NVRAM have had no effect. I'm down to my phone now.
Looks like the computing gods are pissed off at me for some reason.
For what it's worth, the feeling is mutual.
