I followed the April 2014 mini atx buyers guide and I have GA-Z87N-WIFI, Intel Core i5-4670K Quad-Core Desktop Processor 3.4 GHZ, Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB Kit. Could it be my BIOS that's causing the problems? I have my hdmi on the top slot also, like others have advised me to.

It SOMETIMES boots normally like 3 out of 10 times maybe, it can boot up in -x safe mode (there are times when it can't and goes to static after I choose my HD) also I followed these BIOS from someone and it works SOMETIMES 3 out of 10 times. When I try to boot it shows the apple logo and then just goes static if it doesn't go through
From a fresh Optimized Defaults I changed

-Boot Option #1 P3: SSD Drive (other boot options are disabled)
-BootupNumlock Enabled
-Security Option System
-FullScreen LOGO SHOW Enabled
- Fast boot: disabled.
-Liquid CPUID Maximum Disabled
Execute Disable Bit Enabled
- Intel Virtualization Technology: enabled
- TXT (LT) support: disabled.
- Dynamic storage Accelerator: disabled.
- VT-d: enabled in GRAY, it won't let me disable it, someone mentioned in the forums if it's grayed out it is not supported by my cpu. or is there another way to disable this? no matter which setting I change, it won't let me disable it)
- OS Type: Other OS.
- Boot mode: Legacy Only
-LAN PXE Boot Option ROM disabled
-Storage boot option control Legacy Only
-Other pci device rom priority Legacy OpROM
Network stack disabled
In Peripherals:
- Internal Graphic Max Size: 64Mo.
- Super IO Conf / Serial port: disabled.
In Performance/Misc PCIe Slot Configuration Gen1

Can someone tell me their BIOS settings? Everything works, but I have a boot up problems. I just don't know why it has trouble booting up.

Here's what I installed by #####
- Drivers > Audio > Realtek ALCxxx > Without DSDT > ALC 892
- Drivers > Disk > TRIM Enabler > 10.9.0 Trim Patch
- Drivers > Network > Intel - hnak's AppleIntelE1000 v2.5.4d

Same exact issue here. I'm using the i5-4440. I get the same static a well. In addition to low boot success my machine also locks up entirely at random intervals. Like completely frozen, cant move the mouse. Please help.

My settings using a 4770K with out any issues at all.
In Bios Features:
- Fast boot: disabled.
- Intel Virtualization Technology: disabled.
- TXT (LT) support: disabled.
- Dynamic storage Accelerator: disabled.
- VT-d: disabled. Without this setting, it was impossible to boot Maverick without the -x flag.
- OS Type: Other OS.
- Boot mode: Legacy.
In Peripherals:
- Internal Graphic Max Size: I use a Dedicated Card ( I have it disabled)
- Super IO Conf / Serial port: disabled.
(Remember to change the XHCI to enable (smart auto is the default setting).
Multibeast settings
I use DSDT (just for the heck of it but you don't need it with this mobo)

Tried all of the suggestions below. No help. Unit is still locking up. Thoughts?

FWIW - machine runs windows 7 perfectly so I'm not thinking it's hardware related.

I have the same issues with the machine locking up at random intervals. I may explore a DSDT route just to see if it resolves it.

I just reinstalled my OS X (I wanted to switch away from clover).
My system setup is in my sig. Here's what I did:

1. Installed latest bios for H87N-WIFI 2.0 (F7) (reboot)
2. Restored BIOS to performance defaults
3. Enabled RAM XMP Profile 1
4. Disabled VT-d (don't make more customizations to your bios)
5. Used UniBeast 3.01 to create installation file (installed OS X 10.9.1)
6. Ran MultiBeast 6.22 and installed the settings attached (if I installed more than this or differently, i found my system less stable. rebooted)
7. Installed WIFI kext for my wifi (bcm4352) using Toleda bcm4352.kext and also installed btfirmwareuploader.ketct (Used KextWizard and fixed permissions after installation. rebooted)
8. Installed BCM4352 WiFi 5Ghz Patch
(Used KextWizard and fixed permissions after installation. rebooted)
9. Upgraded to Chimera 3.0.1
10. Ran ssdtPRGen 13.5 and to create my SSDT
11. Loaded the AppStore and downloaded all updates available (At this point running 10.9.3)

If you follow these steps EXACTLY you should be solid. Example: Don't install TRIM, don't customize bios more than mentioned, etc.
