GA-Z77X-D3H compatibility (disregarding audio)

Hi all, last question I hope!

So the Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H is my ideal board feature-wise (8 usb, 8 sata). If I use a USB sound card, should the installation/compatibility be on par with the current gold-standard GA-Z77-DS3H (e.g. DSDT-free power management)?

Yes. The only reason the D3H was not recommended was the VIA audio chip. If you have no intention of using onboard audio, the board will do as well as the DS3H.
