An old NV 8800GTS and other bits and pieces

I bought the kit actually before I saw the state of Hackintoshs (I likes me some BFBC2), and I have may MacBook Pro for a long time. Upon seeing what was possible, especially with what I had ordered, well, excellent.

So, iBoot, installed 10.6.3, updated with the latest 10.6 Combo update, MultiBeast, first setup with old 8800GTS card, then got the ATI drivers, setup Ververt framebuffer, golden. CI works, sound, networking, everything. Probably should put in more detail but I am pretty tired right now. Oh, of course I ripped out the 8800GTS card, don't need it in there.

Was actually, I have to say, way easier than I expected.

Crossfired cards naturally causes issues, as does having two active. So its a job of ripping out the power cord to one of them when I go to OSX. (I also installed everything wrong apparently, I first installed via my NV card, in the last PCI-E slot, with the ATI cards in, just told the BIOS to init that slot first...worked. Also had a all my hdds in. I suck at listening to instructions ;) )

Only thing left is to play around with the DSDTs (maybe I can get a nice one from someone else) as I am just using the "Supported" one from MultiBeast, so I am sure some things are suboptimal, just not too apparent to me (temp monitoring works, sleep doesn't but I don't care too much about that.)

So, very happy. Work done here rocks. I hope to contribute some more when I am not so damn tired. (Mental note, don't work 12 hour days then spend time doing this stuff til 3am....the wife thinks you are nuts)
