Howdy. With my new system (Gigabyte Ga-P68MX-UD2H-B3, i7-2600k, Gigabyte 6870 video) my BIOS reads the CPU at 1.20v. However, in OS X Lion with iStat 3.18, it is showing 1.41v.
iStat also reads 98C on "CPU 1" and "CPU 2", whereas "CPU A" - "CPU D" all show low-40s, which I know ARE accurate.
Should I be concerned about the voltage use? I know it's on the high end, but I am not attempting to overclocking this thing, and the BIOS reads 1.2v as it should.
Are there BIOS settings that might be ramping up the voltage behind my back? (Set to "Auto" has the BIOS reading 1.315v, and if I manually set the voltage to "1.200" then the BIOS decides to ramp it up to 1.425v . Set to "normal", the BIOS shows 1.2v but iStat under Hackintosh is showing far more than I'd want.) "About this Mac" shows 3.4GHz as well...
Should I load up Windows, get a CPU reader, and verify what it reads?
Thanks!
