Tony, thanks for the fantastic installation guides!
Everything is running fine on my new build except for sleep.
Using the AsereBoot (1.1.9) boot file, I am down to 3 kexts in Extensions/Extra:
fakesmc
LegacyHDA
NullCPUPowerManagement

- Added HPET fix to the fixed F8 DSDT posted.
(Confirmed that AppleHPET is loading now)
When I remove NullCPUPowerManagement, the system freezes at boot (grey apple screen) or shortly after that.
Tried booting into Safe Mode, get to login screen, then system freezes.

Any insights/suggestions would be appreciated.

Well, you'll not need to add anything to the F8 DSDT- it's already been pre-edited. The one that installs from MultiBeast will by default let you remove that kext. Try reinstalling the DSDT from MultiBeast, remove the kext and reboot. Then report back.

Glad the methods worked for ya! I'm always happy to read success stories! ;)

Downloaded Multibeast 0.9.9 - it turns out the DSDT for my board (GA-P55A-UD3P) is still at F5 while I am at F8. Can you update it to F8?
Thanks for your help!

Tony, thanks for your help.
It turns out the DSDT you posted does not have the HPET fix.
Here is the updated version with the HPET fix:DSDT-GA-P55A-UD3P-F8_HPET.aml

With fixed DSDT, AppleHPET loads fine.
When I remove NullCPUPowerManagement, the system freezes.
For the first boot, I get all the way into the UI, then the system freezes.
After restart, the system hangs at the first blue screen (before UI comes up).
Repeated test with removing NullCPUPower on fresh 10.6.2 install (using OSInstall.mpkg method) - same result.
Any thoughts or ideas what to try to check for?

Thanks for the update- I'm about to replace the one on the server.

I need a second look sometimes- care to take a stroll through the rest of the DSDT Database?

That's strange- it should just work without NullCPU- do you have Optimized Defaults set in Bios? And HPET to 64 bit?

Reloaded optimized defaults and confirmed HPET is set to 64 bit.
Same result.
I am running out of ideas.
Are there any alternative ways to enable sleep?
Does Sleepenabler work for P55?

Cheers

SleepEnabler should work if all else fails. Make sure you have the updated one for 10.6.2. ;)

Yes, SleepEnabler does work and provides a (temporary) solution.
It is curious that I run into the same freezes as before when I remove NullCPU from E/E with SleepEnabler in place.
It must be an incompatibility with AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement and something else.
I am wondering if it could be something related to the P55A of my board.
I haven't seen any success reports with sleep on these boards.
Will post this a question to the community.
