I have the following:
GA-H77-DS3h Bios @ F7
Intel Core i5-3570k
Corsair 2x4 GB DDR3 1600
Retail Snow Leopard DVD
500GB WD Caviar HDD
HP DVD RW drive
All above is assebled and working
- have followed instructions for BIOS set, could not find HPET setting
- using 1 stick of ram in slot 2
- booting iBoot 3
- change DVD to Snow Leopard 10.6.3
- press F5
- a grey screen with the Apple Logo appears but will not progress past this screen

HELP HELP
specific setting for bios? correct memory slots?
use 1 or both sticks?
or anything else I may have missed?

Hi,

It seems that Snow Leopard won't work with Ivy Bridge processors/mb unless you have a hacked kernel. I don't feel confident enough to do that (besides, it's against tonymac forum rules to discuss that). Would suggest that you go straight to Lion/ML.

Don't know how that will work either - am just getting started myself with an almost identical config as yours!

All the best.

UPDATE

News Flash....

We have a new iBoot cd for Ivy Bridge that supports the Ivy Bridge line of CPU's and this should allow you to get you to install SL and then allow You to get to the APP store and purchase - download - make - and install a UniBeast flash Drive.
