Hi there. Finally I've got my build working, lot of work to convert old G5 case to Atx.... I tried to keep all I could as fans, cables, HD cage.... Some useful parts are from an old trashed PC as Atx tray, back plate and so on. Everything is working although some tweaking is still needed, I think my Fake Smc aren't so accurate in reporting temps. Mobo is a Gigabyte X58A-UD7, cpu Xeon W3680 (from a server) and it's (over)clocked @4.2Ghz. See pics:

Thank you, the same to everyone who visited this page! I hope someone more skilled than me can help with an issue I'm still wrestling to solve....... Well, this is it:

a) AICPUPM (native and not patched) with DSDT, the 6 cores are stepping 12-25-26-27-28-29-30-31-32 all at the same speed and temps are higher even when idle

b) NullCPUPM I still have speed steps, EIST enabled in Bios, 12-25-26-27-28-29-30-31-32 and the 6 cores never rest to a freq, they keep oscillating from min to max each at different speed but temps are about 12 degrees (Celsius) lower!

I couldn't find a solution so please if someone can explain it would be very appreciated, I'm going mad...

Again thank you for reading this post

More tests done. I think AICPUPM & FakeSMC aren't so accurate in reporting temps. Installed Windows7 and Cpu-Z, CoreTemp. Win7's running at the same cpu speed reports cpu temp about 10 degrees C lower than Mac Os, both idle and full load, the same within Bios PC health status (idle). I can mark this as SOLVED.
