Frozen at Gray Screen

Trying to install 10.7.3 on a dell studio xps 435mt. After chimera boot screen, it loads apple logo and stops at a gray screen. Whats wrong?

If you are using the GFX card which comes with the system, it is LIKELY the problem. You need to get a compatible graphic card.

I am using ATI raedeon hd 4670. What do you think about this card?

Oh and is the fact that my motherboard only has an option for ATA and RAID contributing to this problem? There is no AHCI.

Can you upgrade the BIOS and then see?
