Hi

I installed Mountain Lion and it all went flawless. I went and downloaded MultiBeast and selected only EasyBeast, but when trying to boot the system, it freezes when loading (White screen with apple logo and spinner) I havent updated my BIOS or anything so i don't know if thats the problem.

Right before it i see the white apple screen it says Header Read Size 200 incorret image signature

I am using a VGA monitor but that shouldnt be a problem since it works before installing EasyBeast?

I am really running out of ideas now? Anyone who can help?

This is the 12th time i'm reinstalling Mountain Lion. Trying different MultiBeast combinations and still the same. Freeze when getting to the Apple loading screen. I'm about to give up, should have went with a gigabyte card!

Is it true that VGA is not supported after installing Chimera because of the HD4000? Is that perhaps why my Apple loading screen freezes?

ML doesn't support VGA. Try HDMI or DVI. Moreover, you have to insert the following EFI strings in /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist and set GraphicsEnabler to No.

<key>device-properties</key>
<string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000005006201140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string>

If it doesn't work, more strings can be found here:

In my case, it only works when both VGA and DVI ports connect to monitors, so strange.

My setup is
ASUS P8H77-I + i5-3570K

Thanks isaac

Do i put the string in right after i installed multibeast? I will try the string and see if that works, else i have to get a new monitor.

Would you mind share your multibeast settings if you remember them?

VGA will not work, If possible connect the monitor with DVI.

Finally a breakthrough!

@isaac_ho

I did what you said. I set the GraphicsEnabler to No. and hardcoded the resolution to match my VGA monitor and it worked! It boots fine into Mountain Lion. I know that HD4000 is not working but since i'm going to use it as a NAS it doesn't really matter.

Thank you so much :)

@MiniITX

I actuallly got it to work. I know that HD4000 is not enabled but thats fine for now. I might hook it up to a monitor in the future but for now i'm only going to use it as a server.

Thanks isaac

I used MultiBeast 5.0.2 and installed Easy Beast, VoodaHDA, Lnx2Mac's RealtekRTL81xx Ethernet Driver, FakeSMC, FakeSMC Motherboard Plugins only. System definition is MacPro 3,1. Speedstep and Sleep doesn't work.

Please go through the 10.8.2 Troubleshooting of the following article if you will use FakeSMC plugins with 10.8.2.

Thanks for your help!

Did you change any settings on your motherboard other than ACHI?

I set Intel xHCL mode in "Auto" to enable USB 3.0 in ML.
