I've just put together my first build:
MB: GA-X77X-UP5 TH

When I ask for a shut-down, I get a restart.

I installed the Wi-Fi card that came with MB, a Gigabyte GC-WB300D, but I don't think I have it turned on – not picking up any networks. I have an AirPort Wi-Fi station that works fine with my iMac.

I had a working ethernet connection at one point, but now have lost it and haven't figured out why.

I'd GREATLY appreciate some help. There's lots about what I'm doing that feels like groping in the dark.

Hey man! Its good to see that your os is up and running, I would kill for that. Right now I'm stuck with cpu halted :(

So for your shutdown/restart question:
Try Wake On LAN = "Disabled" in the BIOS settings.

Hope that help

best,
Kenny

Thanks, Kenny. Shut down now works fine. Now trying to get Ethernet working.
