Hi

Am starting this to overcome Firewire Security issues

Any guide to bypass this issue and enable firewire port?

Without Firewire, fully accomplished Mac is handicapped!

Hi Tony

I chose these components to assemble a PC so that it matches latest iMac 27"

Intel DP55WG MainBoard/ Intel Core i5-750 Processor
2 x2 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1333/ 2x 500GB SATA HDD/ 24X Optiarc DVD Writer
512 MB XFX nVidia 9800GT card/ 22" Dell S2209W Display

This board uses TI TSB43AB22A chipset

Help me to resolve

Thanks in advance

Are you sure the FireWire controller is enabled in the BIOS?
Does it work in Windows?
As I can't seem to find anyone else having problems with that controller.
Otherwise I really don't know...

Hi thelostswede

Firewire works fine in windows. In fact I added a via pci card too
for additional firewire pins for my video capture jobs.

Windows Device Manager lists both the onboard and pci firewire devices
properly.

When it comes to OS X I tried every other versions and all I get is
"ERROR: Firewire unable to determine security-mode; defaulting to full secure"

As long as this msg appears firewire wont work.
