Firewire 800 card recommendation?

I'd make sure to get a powered card, as if you're using power hungry FireWire 800 devices, then the cards that don't have an internal power connector won't be able to power the device you plug in.

ppl, i tell you my experiencie on this, so i'll share it with you.

i have my hackintosh working 100% ok, si i needed to plug my audio device Apogee Duet (i use it with Ableton Live)

so a friend give me a VIA VT6306 firewire pci card. i plugged it on my mother and started my osx. The system recognized it well, so my Apogee Duet too, but i have problems with sounds. it skipps randomly.... don't matter what i do, if i use ableton or vlc media player to listen mp3, it audio is skipping sometimes.

so i readed a lot on this forum, insanleymac forum, and others, and i realized that i needed a Ti (Texas Instruments) card, cause Apple use this chips on their Mac's machines.

Today i bought a pci-e card (Ti with XIO2213B chipset, on this link http://articulo.mercadolibre.com.ar/MLA ... hip-ti-_JM), and tested it with my osx86 machine.
So far, it worked excellent. No skips problem.

i hope it works for you ;)

Bye,
Sergio
