Hi i use fireware 400 mb/ps with my Hach and when i use it with FCS the video while capturing seems to jurkey but the timeline playback is normal. WILL IS BE cause any quality reduction. PCIE fireware 800 give any improvement?

You missed spelled firewire in your thread title. (I just hate it when I do that. )

I haven't tried my Sony VHS camera (yep, it has a FW interface) on my Hackintosh, yet. However, check out my build description (link in signature block) for a FW800/400 PCI-e card that cost me $20 USD on eBay. Works fine for my other FW external peripherals.
