I am currently researching a build to run our Qlab / MadMapper setup as well.
I was wondering what you ended up going with as it sounds like I will have pretty much the exact same requirements as you.
I have been looking at a i7-5820k CPU with 2x GTX 970 GPUs but you have me thinking I might be way under speccing.
Any input or insights you had would be greatly appreciated.
